L.A. Times Article Confirms Samuel L.'s Voice!

Posted By Mike on May 7, 2008

The L.A. Times has a new article today titled, "George Lucas: 'Star Wars' won't go beyond Darth Vader." The article centers on the upcoming Clone Wars theatrical release and series as well as Lucas' assertion that he has no interest in doing a CGI movie or series post Return of the Jedi. Now. this is all well and good and you have to respect George's position regardless if you're a EU lover or not...yadda, yadda, yadda...

...But let's get to what I found most exciting. See the excerpt below:

"The stories that do interest Lucas are the ones that take place before Anakin Skywalker dons the ebony mask of Darth Vader, which is why he and his 5-year-old Lucasfilm Animation venture will add a seventh feature film to the "Star Wars" canon on Aug. 15 with "The Clone Wars."

The movie has been produced with state-of-the-art computer-generated animation and voice actors, including Samuel L. Jackson, reprising his Mace Windu character, and Anthony Daniels as the familiar voice of C-3P0."

Looks as though "Skylover" from Sithclan.net was right on the money with his report here. Yet another reason to be excited for August 15th as we rejoice in what seems to be a Samuel L. Jackson confirmation! I'd still assume this is for the movie and not neccessarily the series but we'll take what we can get.

Click here for the full article that includes link to some pics and an EU breakdown.

I scored one of the new Clone Wars R2-D2's recently and have just added a nice photo gallery for all of those who have been afraid to open it. So far, I'm really diggin' this figure, both in design and function. There's a pop on third leg, and rocket boosters, two front door panels with fold up arms, a pop up sensorscope, and one more cool feature you'll have to see the video for.
