Actor Chris Marquette Discusses
‘Fanboys’ Release Date, Oliver Stone’s ‘Pinkville’

On Sunday, January 6, Movie Geeks United!, one of the most popular movie-themed internet radio and iTunes podcast shows, featured an exclusive live interview with ‘Fanboys’ director Kyle Newman and co-star Chris Marquette. The one hour broadcast, which also featured an exclusive interview with ‘Zodiac’ screenwriter James Vanderbilt, covered topics from 'Star Wars' to Oliver Stone’s ‘Pinkville’ to the upcoming ‘SpiderMan 4’.

‘Fanboys’ follows a group of die-hard ‘Star Wars’ fans as they attempt to steal an early copy of ‘The Phantom Menace’ for their dying friend. In the works for the better part of the past decade, the film has endured a series of setbacks on the long road to an eventual release.

As to the film’s release date, actor Chris Marquette (Alpha Dog) said, “It changes from day to day, but I think March or April. We went back in and did some more re-shoots and changed the movie around a little bit. I think they’re expecting it all to be done this next month before February.”

Mr. Marquette also discussed the effects the writer’s strike has played on his latest film, which was slated to be Oliver Stone’s ‘Pinkville’.

“They’re pushing that off until at some point undisclosed this year. I’ve talked to him [Oliver Stone] and he had said, ‘I don’t want anyone to lose faith, because it falling apart last minute is not the end of it by any means.’ If there’s anybody in the business that can have a movie fall apart and pick it back up on it’s feet, it’s him.”

The hour closed with an interview with ‘Zodiac’ screenwriter James Vanderbilt, who discussed the ongoing strike, his collaboration with director David Fincher and his upcoming projects, including ‘Against All Enemies’ and ‘SpiderMan 4’.

The replay of this program may be accessed anytime at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/moviegeeksunited/2008/01/06/FANBOYS.
