New Aaron Allston Novel On The Way?
Posted By Mike on August 12, 2008
Amazon.com has a new listing up for an Aaron Allston Star Wars novel slated to come out March 24, 2009. The title is listed as "Fate of the Jedi 1" which of course leads us to believe this would be the first of a series. Nothing is known of the plot yet but we'll keep you posted. (especially when we hear an official announcement) See below for some of the specs listed on Amazon:
Format: Hardcover Page Count: 256 Price: $27.00 Publisher: Del Rey
Source: EUCantina.net
Additionally, per his website, Aaron will be attending the Omaha Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival (OSFest) from July 11-13 as the Writer Guest of Honor as well as San Diego Comic-Con from July 24-27.
UPDATE: Per the listing Amazon has for an upcoming Aaron Allston novel, Sue Rostoni at the Starwars.com Message boards says the following:
"They can't count the pages of a book that hasn't been written yet."
Bear in mind that she didn't say that there was no Allston novel on the way. The specifics in the listing are sure to be adjusted as time goes on though.

UPDATE #2: ClubJade.net is reporting, from some of the rumors floating around the TFN message boards, about the possibility of Fate of the Jedi being part of a new 9 book series that would include authors Aaron Allston, Troy Denning and Cristine Golden. Sue Rostoni had this to say about Christine Golden on the Starwars.com message boards:
"I met her some time ago and she’s very enthusiastic about the unnamed project I can’t talk about. She’s a team player and a good communicator."
She also went on to say the following regarding the 9 novel series format:
"Oh, and those who want trilogies by the same author rather than a mixed series like we’ve done — the problem is that it takes from 9 months to a year from the time an outline is approved to the time the book goes to publication, so if we had three authors doing trilogies back-to-back, you’d be looking at a 9-years series with one book a year (or maybe two books during the “change author” year). The reason that Michael Reaves’ Coruscant Nights books are closer together is because he’s been working on all three for a few years now."
Very interesting. Make sure to click here and see the full breakdown at ClubeJade.net and we will be sure to keep you posted as we learn more. All is considered rumor until we hear something official, but again, very interesting.
