Invincible Teasers

Posted By Paul on April 13, 2008

A couple of new blurbs for the ninth and final "Legacy of the Force" novel, Invincible, have appeared on the internet in recent days.

First, there's a short summary from DelRey's Summer catalog (link leads to PDF download page - the catalog is a whopping 14 MB and 200 pages, and the summary in question is on page 75).

This was originally spotted over at EU Cantina, but I got the link via Club Jade, who also have a little more in the way of summary and analysis.

The second new summary is for the audiobook on the Random House website, and I think this one was first spotted by Club Jade themselves.

There's nothing in either of these teasers to corroborate the unverified details found in the Science Fiction Book Club summary, which we reported a few weeks back. Both fall into the same basic pattern as the previous two blurbs, though: Luke is caught between duty and revenge, and it will fall to Jaina Solo to confront the Sith Lord who was born as her twin brother.

Added details are as follows: the website mentions that Darth Caedus now has Force power that surpasses Darth Vader's, and that Luke has seen a vision of a tyranny worse than Palpatine's, while the catalog indicates that Jaina will be accompanied on her mission by her parents Han and Leia, and her ex-boyfriends and loyal sidekicks, Zekk and Jagged Fel.

The catalog also offers a couple of pieces of information on the events surrounding the book. Firstly, it says that www.legacyoftheforce.com will be used for online promotions - though the URL currently just links through to the Random House main page (they do have a sub-site for the novel series, though).

Secondly, the catalog also mentions a book tour for Troy Denning, the dates for which can now be found within the main entry for the novel at the Random House website.

We'll keep an eye on that URL, and remind you of these bookstore events nearer the time, of course. More news as soon as we get it in. Meanwhile, you can discuss the up-coming book in this thread on TF.N's message boards!
